Castaway Coffee Partners with Publix Super Market and Chef Robert Irvine to honor Veterans and First Responders.
Castaway Coffee, is honored to support our nation's veterans and first responders during the Tampa Bay Wine and Food Festival. Partnering up with Publix Supermarkets and the Robert Irvine Foundation, Castaway Coffee hosted over 250 veterans and first responders in Tampa, FL. Chef Robert Irvine and Iron Chef Geoffrey Zakarian were present, cooking for the honored guest. The Breaking Bread with Heroes breakfast sponsored by Castaway Coffee , Publix and the Robert Irvine Foundation is only a small part of the admirable work and dedication by Chef Robert Irvine to our nation's heroes.
“Although, our mission at Castaway Coffee is to protect our oceans, honoring our nations' veterans is incredibly important to us,” said Laura M. Sixto, Castaway Coffee co-founder and conservation coordinator. "Our oldest son spent six years in the US Army, he and all our veterans deserve our thanks and support."
"Veterans talk to veterans about military things, the things they've gone through", said Chef Robert Irvine. "It's kind of a self-healing group, if you like, over food. Food is the international language of love and hope."
