Sport Fishing Championship (SFC) today announced a partnership with Castaway Coffee that makes Castaway the official coffee of SFC’s The Catch, the annual made-for-tv offshore tournament featuring the fishing league’s stars competing alongside NFL All-Pros. SFC’s The Catch takes place April 19-20 at Pier Sixty-Six, Ft. Lauderdale, FL.

Each competing team in SFC’s The Catch Pro-Am and SFC’s The Catch will receive a “Castaway Coffee Sendoff,” fueling the crews with their choice of fresh brewed coffee or Castaway Coffee’s newly launched Ready To Drink Nitro Cold Brew Espresso. Castaway Coffee’s products also will be available to attendees of SFC’s Friday night Kickoff Concert, featuring performances by Loud Luxury, Kilngande and a special appearance by Big Bio of Outkast fame.

“Our goal is to have all anglers, boaters, and ocean loving coffee
drinkers enjoying Castaway Coffee,” said Laura M. Sixto, Castaway Coffee co-founder and conservation coordinator.  "Our partnership with SFC’s The Catch will allow us to further expand our market visibility and in turn provide crucial support to our marine environment in Florida.”

Castaway Coffee donates a portion from each bag of coffee sold to Coastal Conservation Association Florida and other marine initiatives. Castaway Coffee is also a member of the 1% for the Planet initiative, which reinforces their commitment to their community, customers, and the planet.

“Besides brewing an amazing coffee, Castaway Coffee’s
commitment to conservation is an incredible demonstration of leadership,” said Mark Neifeld, SFC Commissioner and CEO. “We often say the ocean is our arena, and we’re grateful to tell the Castaway Coffee story knowing at the same time it helps support important ocean-based causes.”

Castaway Coffee’s co-founder, marine artist Steve Diossy, has helped raise millions of dollars for oceanographic research, conservation, and education by designing the “Protect Wild Dolphins” and “Protect Marine Wildlife” license plates for the state of Florida. To properly portray the coastal lifestyle, Castaway Coffee has designed their packaging utilizing Diossy’s unique and whimsical artistic style.

“It’s always more about us than the fish. I feel we are all fish out of water. As anyone who grew up in Florida knows, we all love being in and around the water and that’s definitely where I’m happiest,” Diossy said describing his art.
